The weekend long run is a key workout for anyone training for race distances from the 10K and up. Long runs at a slower pace are good for any runner, and a great chance to get to know your club mates better!
RWxGV Sunday Long Runs
The Guelph Victors have been focussed on speed workouts and have not had a regular long run for many years now, so we’ve partnered with The Running Works to organize a weekly long run event, Sundays at 8 am!
We’ve chosen Sunday as the long run day so as not to interfere with the Eramosa River Trail parkrun, which happens every Saturday at 9 am. If you’re used to running long on Saturday, please consider switching your day and running with us! The larger the group, the better!
The RWxGV Sunday Long Run:
- is an organized weekly run, leaving from The Running Works store at 89 Gordon Street, 8 am sharp
- is less formal than a running clinic, with leaders to get things going, share the weekly route, and organize similar-pace groups, although we can’t “supervise” the actual runs
- requires no signup or registration, no fee, and no need to check in advance to see if it’s happening
Distance Options:
- >10K
- 15K–25K+
You’re free to run the distance that suits you (you may have to do some of the run on your own if your turn back earlier than the group)
NOTES:
- The store opens at 11 am on Sundays, so it’s not possible to leave gear or keys there
- Come with everything you need, eg. nutrition and water, clothing

Running Works posts the routes on their instagram stories each week ahead of the run!
