During COVID the Leadership Committee took some time to discuss and document the aims of the club, the culture we wanted to cultivate and the tone we wanted to set for ourselves and the membership.
We created a bylaw document that identifies the way in which the club wishes to conduct itself, the procedures for membership, and the process for establishing and operating the Leadership Committee, including roles and responsibilities of club Directors. The bylaws are also meant to ensure transparency, to align with the values of equity, diversity, and inclusion and to ensure the Leadership Committee remains accountable.
Most importantly, the document includes a code of conduct to ensure the health and safety of the membership and to create a welcoming environment for running and group activities, free from harassment and discrimination where individuals are treated fairly and with respect.
